NICOLE ELLIOTT

After being in the photography industry for over 20 years, Nicole Elliott has become an award-winning Professional Photographer, Teacher, Speaker and Designer; whose work has been nationally recognized and published. Her most recent project has been the development and launch of a brand new camera strap for women. Partnering with international camera strap company BLACKRAPID, she has successfully launched her product in the US and UK. Nicole has a deep passion to encourage, equip and empower this next generation of photographers and entrepreneurs to push past their limiting beliefs and rise boldly into their purpose.

In her own words…

“My heart has always been to create products, content and services that help ENCOURAGE others to push beyond their barriers, to EQUIP them with practical tools and EMPOWER them to believe in greatness.  It’s through that desire that Studio Elliott {Encourage . Equip . Empower} was born.

I am a mother, a wife and a wild dreamer. As a 4th generation “Mom-preneur” I come from a long line of dreamer women who had one goal in mind… to dare to push beyond their own limitations and make something amazing with what little they had. In doing so, they would leave a legacy that would empower the next generations to do the same. As a daughter of an immigrant mother who taught me the value of hard work and the belief that with God all things are possible, I have a burning desire to equip, encourage and empower others to do the same. I don’t just want to create products – I want to create a belief system that gives voice to the undeniable hope inside each one of us. A God given hope that fuels us to change, create and move. Through my story and through the hope and grace of Jesus, I want to inspire women to dare to believe in greatness and challenge them to take the steps beyond their limitations and into the reality of their dreams.

One of my favorite verses and the Truth that carries me on, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

Here’s to moving past the doubts, fear and uncertainty – let’s move forward in Strength and Courage!”

THE STORY BEHIND THE ELLIOTT STRAP

My mother is Ecuadorian. We used to spend our summers swinging from vines in the rain forest and hiking up mountains. I always dreamed of the day I could take my family to the place that has always meant so much to me. In October 2016 I took my husband and 4 daughters to Ecuador.  I photographed everything! It was such a different world, different people, different scenery, different food.  It was so beautiful to see this new world through my daughters eyes and experience it all over with them. I loved it and tried to remember as much as I could by way of my camera. When we returned home from this trip I had a lot of changes and shifts going on with my photography business. Closed doors that left me wandering aimlessly and confused.  In a moment of surrender, buried in my husbands arms He said a prayer over me that went something like this… ” God, give Nicole vision, direction and purpose. Calm her heart, give her peace and confidence. We trust that you will lead her. In Jesus name – Amen.”

And just like that – it was all in his hands and I let it all go to God. Well, it didn’t take long before I had a Lightbulb moment. As I was thinking about my super uncomfortable strap that I used when I was in Ecuador and on the other hand thinking about all the women carrying around much heavier loads on their backs with a wrap around their shoulders – I knew they had the right idea. Taking a concept that has been around for centuries and turning it into a camera strap was the way to go. So I called my mother in law, went to the fabric store and started sewing our first prototype. Since then I have learned so much and God has opened up the most amazing opportunities for me to bring this product to the world.  I am so excited to see how far we’ll go with this!

“I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.

A CAUSE TO BELIEVE IN

Since I have 4 small girls my heart breaks for the children, teenagers and women that are sold into Sex Trafficking.  According to the U.S. State Department, 600,000 to 800,000 people are trafficked across international borders every year, of which 80% are female and half are children. HALF are children!

A21 connects individuals with onsite organizations around the world. With your support, we have the opportunity to see rescue and restoration in an area where thousands of men, women and children have been exploited.

Your partnership with this project goes directly to combating human trafficking. These efforts include the funding of: raids, covert gear, ongoing operations, aftercare provision, and awareness efforts.

A21 is the organization Studio Elliott supports. To find out more or to give to the cause check out their web site and open your heart to this cause.
